Frank Machalowski is a self-taught German photographer who works with black and white film to produce long exposure photographs of cities and busy events, as shown in the series 'Monster'. Machalowski intended to capture ghostly streams of people pouring through the streets like faceless monsters. “Sometimes I’m fascinated by these masses, but in some cases it is repulsive for me. Every characteristic of individuality disappears in a mass of people. So I looked to capture that feeling in a photographic project.” His work is very similar to that of Alexey Titarenko as both are based in cities and are in black and white.
